Truth About Dog Attacks

Many people are in search of proof that Pit Bulls and Other breeds that are banned are truly more dangerous then other breeds. Well as a friendly note, quit looking. The reason why there are not many sites out there besides ones made by people who are highly prejudice against these breeds just because the NEWS says you need to fear these breeds is because these dogs are NOT DANGEROUS. Here on this page you will find all true PROVEN facts that prove that a Pit Bull is even more innocent then your friendly Labrador Retriever.

We as humans are weak if we choose to blame an animal for the wrong doings that only man can create. In a 7-year study that evaluated dog bites, ONLY 1.89% of the dog bites and attacks came from a Pit Bull. Out of 100 breeds tested Pit Bulls come in 4th from the bottom. Meaning that there are 96 other breeds that are more dangerous then them. Of the top two dogs in those 100, Labradors and cocker Spaniels were the worst two breeds tested. Meaning that Labs and cocker Spaniels came in last place. We as Humans choose to look at a picture and judge the life of someone or something by what we see. As HUMANS we should know better then that. Even as humans we have had bad pictures in our life. We need to be the superior race and look at the situation from both sides. Pit bulls who are Biting or mauling humans and other dogs are starved, beaten, burned alive, and left to die if they do not fight. These dogs need our help not our hatred. I work with Pit Bulls all the time and also own a Pit Bull. Never have I ever encountered a dangerous Pit Bull. These videos are the truth about the Pit Bull Life. Please do not judge a breed by its picture or media, please read into the facts first.

Did you know that only 20% of Pit Bull attacks are actually a Pit Bull? Out of that 20% Most of them are abused, neglected, or still intact. 80% of Pit Bull attacks are never Pit Bulls. Once the media reports them as being a Pit Bull attack (and then realize it was the wrong breed) they place small adds on their sites in places most people don’t look or in small articles in their press also were most people do not look stating that they misrepresented the breed that caused the attack. Of the people placing the false blame on these dogs are sometimes our trustworthy policemen, neighbors, or the local NEWS crews themselves. Truth is not very many people even know what a true Pit Bull Looks like. So in the case of dog attacks every one just automatically blames the Pit Bull.

Here are some links proving the media is too quick to judge the Pit Bull. These are the true stories that are reported after the report is made. Proof doesn’t mean anything when it comes to a dog attack, because the proof is not always the truth when it comes to a Pit Bull attack.

Can you find the Pit Bull

First lets start off with a game. Can you find the Pit Bull? Most people cannot find the Pit Bull on the first try. Only one of the dogs is a true Pit Bull. There are only 25 breeds to look threw and when you find it come back to our site to read farther into why it is unfair to judge our friendly Pit Bulls. I think you may also find it somewhat shocking to see what some of the other breeds are that are put to sleep under euthanasia every year for dog attacks as a Pit Bull. Each one of these breeds have been accused to be a Pit Bull after attacking a dog, kid, adult or even a cat. Here is proof that just because the NEWS says it is a Pit Bull Does not mean it is a Pit Bull. Not even the Police get their facts straight (which are in the links above) until after the animal is put to sleep or kenneled and a DNA test proves the animal to be a breed other then a Pit Bull. Sad but true and you are more then welcome to see what those breeds are for yourself.

What will you do if it is your dog?

Now that you have played the Find the Pit Bull game ask your self what you thought. Do you own one of those breeds? What would you do if your neighbor demanded your dog be put to sleep because it is barking at their kids so it must be a Pit Bull? It is a harsh reality to face but it is what happens every year to many owners just like you. You know your dog is harmless but can you prove it? That is how we feel about our Pit Bulls. We know for a fact that they are harmless but because 25 breeds are misrepresented every year we are forced to give up our loving Pit Bulls and watch them be put to sleep for crimes they never committed.

In this section you will see proven temperament test results for many different breeds. Some people may find the results shocking. As we know most people including our government find Pit Bulls to be highly dangerous. Unfortunately what people do not know is that Pit Bull’s are safer to own then most other breeds. Pit bulls pass more tests then a majority of the breeds. Yet our cities are choosing to pick on such an innocent breed.

Where does your dog rank?

Please feel free to take a look at the results from the various tests taken. Were did your dog’s breed rank at? Is your dog on the top 80% or higher for passing these tests? If not then what would you do if you realized that one day your breed of dog may or could be banned as well although they have committed no crimes? This is also how we feel about our Pit Bull’s. Not only have they committed no crimes but also now, even with proven results of a safe temperament, they are still being banned and owners are still being forced to part with their loving family members.

Why hasn’t our cities banned these breeds as well.

Let’s see if we can understand this now? 2 United States Presidents have Owned Pit Bulls. Many famous singers, actors, and athletes still own these dogs today, yet people are placing the blame on the Pit Bull. Don’t you think that out of all these famous people one of them would have had a vicious mauling Pit Bull if these dogs were so dangerous? No!!!

Why??? That is simple. They all are responsible, loving owners who treat their Pit Bulls with not only respect but also do not Neglect, or abuse their Pit Bulls. Therefore if that cannot show you that the true problem with Pit Bulls is the owners then it will take most of you owning one yourself to understand that they are not vicious mauling dogs.

Facts about Pit Bull Attacks

The fact is this. Pit Bulls are no more Dangerous then your friendly Golden retriever. Pit Bulls attack and Bite fewer people every year then all other dogs combined. You stand a better chance of being hit by lightning then being bit by ANY breed of dog. Pit Bulls along with every breed in the world are NOT born aggressive or mean. They are raised to be monsters NOT born them. It has been scientifically proven that a Pit Bull Bites down with only 320 lbs of pressure. They are not able to lock their jaws for there is no such thing. It is a term used to define the fact that the Pit Bull can hold its mouth shut for a longer period of time. Think about it, if we have something in our mouth that is smaller and able to fit in between our teeth easily, then it would be a lot easier to hold onto then if we were to hold onto a larger item. This goes for Pit Bulls as well. It is the Canine teeth that help with the holding as well as the stronger jaws, not the locking jaw.

As a Dog Behaviorist and also an Obedience trainer, I know the importance of well-behaved dogs. I also know how easy it is to unknowingly or knowingly create a misbehaved dog. Please remember to exercise your pets on a daily basis. Also make sure you have one of your local trainers work with your dogs, no matter what the breed is you own. If you do not take your dog to a trainer please take into consideration the fact that your pets really want to be a part of your family and that you should spend as much time working with your dog and showing your dog all the rules of the house. Please do not leash or kennel your dogs and forget about them. Also do not neglect their needs. Just like us they want to be loved and need your attention. A misbehaved dog (unless it is Medical) is trying to tell you they are unhappy. So please talk with your local trainers on how to correct or prevent any behaviors that may show up or already exist.
